The oldest city in Ireland is Waterford. It has a history of continuous habitation since 914 There are the imprints of the early Viking settlers in the streets patterns of the city’s Viking Triangle. Circuit of medieval towers and walls that still found in many locations are examples of expanded Anglo-Norman citys history. There are Great public buildings made of accurately cut limestones. And the warm, merchant houses are made of red-bricked with the expressions of the grandeur and elegance of the 18th century. The city responds to todays modern trends with up-to-date shops and malls, a varying nightlife, a variety of excellent restaurants and bars and superb sporting facilities. Simply walk through the city and see and understand the history, architecture and people of the city. The walking tours through the city which are Guided and operated by Waterford Tourist Services.
